
As of Thursday, February 11, 2016 Carp gondola ( Sinaia) was officially opened to the large public being the only cable system in the country that reaches the highest altitude in the Romanian mountains: 2,050 meters.
In other words, tourists are now able to reach Cota 2.000 in Sinaia faster while skiers will enjoy accessing the highest ski slope of the country without having to buy two separate tickets: one for the gondola from Cota 1000 to Cota 1,400 and another for the cable lift (1,400-Cota Cota 2000). As of February 11 a special ski pass has also been introduced which covers both Gondola Sinaia/ Carp and the ski lift Telescaunul Soarelui. The price for the pass is 31 E.
“The tourists will be glad to know that we have launched an unique lift pass, which at the price of 140 lei/ 31 E, gives them access to 25 kilometers of ski slopes and allows them to use three of the best performing installations in Romania: the 1000-1400 and 1400-2000 sections of Sinaia gondola and the ski lift Telescaunul Soarelui ” declared for us Bogdan Falcescu, general manager Transport Urban Sinaia.
The Carp gondola construction lasted seven months and required an investment of 9 million euros. The cable installation has 42 gondolas of eight seats each with a total capacity to transport up to 1,500 people per hour.
