Holiday travel warning for people going to Spain, UK and France

Nothing will ruin your holiday faster than finding yourself in the middle of local events that can put your own safety in jeopardy. From extreme weather to political and social unrest,  the worldwide tourists are advised to stay informed as there are travel warnings in place for Spain, France, the USA and Portugal.

Furthermore, for those thinking that they might just be in the mood to visit the UK, updates on Brexit advancements are in order. So here some facts on what to expect:

France

Political unrest in France has led to unpleasant incidents. Protests linked to the yellow vest movement can turn violent any day now. Tourists are warned that they should expect “heavy police or gendarmerie presence.”

Spain

Protests in Spain have already turned violent in the last week with residents in Barcelona preferring to stay at home until the street riots calm down. The furious crowds took to the streets following the imprisonment of nine Catalan separatist politicians. Protestors and police also stormed Barcelona’s , resulting in flights cancellations. Barcelona Tourism has already launched a telephone line for tourists who have missed their flight or have been unable to get to their hotel. Further demonstrations are likely to take place so it’s best to stay informed.

The USA

A weather warning has been put in place for the USA as it is currently in the middle of the hurricane season which will last until 30 November. The extreme weather affected the Bahamas (Hurricane Dorian wreaked havoc on the islands), Carolinas and at present, two storms placed the USA in their paths. The first – Storm Priscilla, just southeast of Mexico, and a developing storm located 1000 miles east-southeast of the Hawaiian Islands.

United Kingdom

As Brexit departure date approaches the entire European Union has been warned. Everything from travel insurance to passport and visa requirements could rapidly change. If you are travelling to and from Europe make sure to follow the relevant guidance as failure to follow the guidelines may mean you will be barred from entering the UK.
