Whenever you are invited to an event as a guest you feel easy, serene, without a worry in the world. You are there to observe, do your documentation and get to know other people in the same field as you. This week kicks off one of the most complex events for tourism: it is all about #LoveRomania and the monumental work that the project team has done organizing it.
Conceived and dreamed by Cristina Patrascu, #LoveRomania involves foreign journalists coming to visit Romania, travel agents from abroad participating for the first time in a study tour here and 2 international conference whose purpose are to develop partnerships and effective means to better promote the country.
Now, let’s go back to what I said in the title. Let’s talk about what it means to be the organizer of this event. Hundreds of hours of work, dozens of sleepless nights, hundreds of kilometers of roads across the country, thousands of minutes on the phone, thousands of emails and so many thoughts on how to make everything perfect.
The logistics behind #LoveRomania involves transport, accommodation, guided tours for more than 50 foreign guests, two international conferences and ensuring that the programs fully reflect how beautiful our country is and how we can exploit it to offer the perfect tours and touristic packages. Moreover, it is your job as an organizer that will be reflected in the way your guests see this experience, so the pressure is enormous.
Behind closed doors, we see the people who thought this project, the partners that support them, the dreams behind all this hard work. From this point of view, over the three months since the #LoveRomania project started everyone worked really hard, resolute and unbeaten. Cristina Patrascu more than anyone. Which reminds me of what Newt Gingrich said: “Perseverance is the hard work done in continuing the hard work that already tired you until total exhaustion” and that fits perfectly in this situation. In this last week the days will pass in a dizzying frenzy. Now is the time when the guest are coming, the last details are put in place, everything gets recalculated 10 times.
For you, viewer or guest, the period between 30 May and 6 June will bring a lot of surprises. And until June 13 when I’ll see you again in Breaza, at the International Travel Conference Romania, I invite you to stay with us on this trip, watch the official Facebook pages and sites of the media partners and find out how Romania is seen through the eyes of the foreign journalists. Because # LoveRomânia is more than an event, it is a state of mind. It is about ambitious, determination and strength to follow your dream. For more details you can ask directly Cristina Patrascu .
