Transportation by bus at a variable price instead of a fixed fee is the new strategy of the Christian Tour agency CEO Marius Pandel who wants to determine the Romanian tourists to make no difference between the low-cost air transportation and the terrestrial one. The introduction of coach transport on the same system as the low-cost airline model means that ticket prices vary constantly from one euro to tens of euros for the trips within Romania and also for abroad. The system is the first of its kind in Romania.
All operations will be done using the Memento Bus Company – part of Christian Tour Group. The Memento Bus fleet currently numbers 15 buses, being on the verge of increasing to 25 following an investment of EUR 3 million.
Memento Buses will run to and from 30 cities in Romania and 11 destinations outside the country, especially to Greece, Turkey and Hungary. The first trips will begin March 15 while the tickets are on sale starting March 1.
The company plans to transport 4 million passengers by Memento coaches in the next three years. For this, Memento Bus fleet will increase from 25 to 80 buses by 2019.
