Whether or not we can take time off from work, the idea of a city break is pretty tempting when we want to take advantage of our free time. To back this up, the data released by the travel agency Paravion.ro , show that this year the number of Romanians who have booked holidays for a city break in first 8 months of 2015 is three times higher compared to the same period last year.
The favorite destinations? Cities like Amsterdam, Vienna, Istanbul, Warsaw and Munich, where, as a tourist, you’ll pay about 300 euros / person for a holiday with three nights’ accommodation and breakfast included.
Why have they chosen these particular places? It is due to the fact that all these cities have one common feature: the large number of tourist attractions & sightseeing that are at your disposal at a very good price.
As always, young people are those who go on trips, in 2015 most city breaks available on Paravion.ro site had been accessed by people between 22 – 35 years old cumulating 70% out of the total reservations, with an average price of 250 euros / person paid for vacation. They preferred destinations like Prague, Barcelona and Amsterdam. On the other hand, the elderly citizens whose booking represent 30% of the requests received by the Agency, have spent up to 300 euro / person in destinations like Prague, Vienna and Munich.
For other affordable destinations, budget related (as long as you plan ahead your departure) try Lisbon, London, Malta, Istanbul, Rome, where for a city break in two you need a budget of 700 E ( valid for 3 nights’ accommodation, airplane tickets and local transportation).
