As spring approaches it is time to have a little trip to London. In general, you can go visit this city no matter the season, it is one of those destinations that will keep you busy and excited. March is a good month to stroll through the city, experience the traditional pubs atmosphere and enjoy the evening beautiful views. Just have a lot of patience, the city is huge and there is much to see. The truth is that London is not a city to visit just once. It takes time and, being one expensive touristic town, you need a serious budget. Regardless of what type of tourist you are, London is a must in every person’s bucket list.

Strolling through the center the impressive buildings leave you speechless. In front of them, trying to see as much as possible, the camera will fill up immediately with snapshots. London streets have a special charm and the local history, traditions and people’s character made the city perfect for a city break. London offers you all – culture, art, history, spectacular urban panoramas, fun but also a sophisticated nightlife. First go to the vending machines inside the Metro and buy yourself a 24 h subscription for the subway lines. The best way is to purchase a weekly card if your period of staying here is around seven days. With a map of the metro you’ll get around to see the city pretty quickly. Do not forget that London Underground system is one of the oldest in the world and its effectiveness is fully proven. I recommend you to take a walk through Hyde Park, one of the most important historical sites in London. The park covers an area of 142 hectares with over 4,000 trees, a lake, a meadow, a horse riding area and many others facilities to divert your mind that you are, in fact, in the middle of a busy, agitated city. For a little peace of mind also enter the famous Westminster Abbey, where all British sovereigns since William the Conqueror (except Edward V and Edward VIII) were crowned.

At noon go watch the city from Tower Bridge

Built in the Victorian era the bridge has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in London. Pedestrian passages serve as galleries from where you can admire the view over the Thames. Then reserve your time for London’s museums – most of which have free admission – the ones financed by the state. Their number is large and among them you will find the famous British Museum.

Do not miss:

  • The Wax Museum – Madame Tussaud. Expect a queue up to 1 hour but for 30 pounds – entrance fee – you will take photos with celebrities of the world. The tour last for about 1.30 hours. If you purchase the tickets online you will pay £ 22.50.
  • Take a tour in the London Eye – costs £ 29.95 with 10% discount if you buy the tickets online. The tour lasts about 30 minutes but you will see the city from above. Just make sure you do not have motion sickness.
  • See the Tower of London. A visit here takes about 4 hours, so careful when you plan your time. Just pass in the morning so you will have the afternoon available for outdoor objectives.
