Wizz Air, the largest low-cost carrier in Central and Eastern Europe, has announced that starting 19 August 2016 will open an airbase in Sibiu, after an investment of 100 million euros.
In other words, from summer 2016, Wizz Air will introduce four international flights from Sibiu to Milan – Bergamo (15 E/flight ticket), Nuremberg ( 22 E/flight ticket), Munich – Memmingen (22 E/ flight ticket) and Madrid 29 E/ flight ticket). The company also announced that will employ 36 persons, reaching 600 employees in Romania.
Also from August 19, Wizz Air will have a new flight from Suceava airport to London – Luton, 4 times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, at priced of 29 E /one-way flight ticket. Wizz Air will also introduce domestic flights from Cluj-Napoca to Bucharest from July.
Wizz Air has seven air bases in Romania: Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Targu Mures, Sibiu (starting August 2016) and Iasi (starting July 2016), operating 114 routes to 16 countries.
