Wizz Air flights from Craiova Airport postponed as renovation works continue

“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” office@simplifytravel.ro

Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, has postponed their flights from the International Airport Craiova (CRA) until November 10, so that major improvements to the airport can be completed.

As this was an unforeseen situation, Wizz Air will operate the flights scheduled at the CRA from Henri Coanda Airport  Bucharest (OTP). All the passengers who already bought the flight tickets are going to be contacted individually in order to be informed of the change and to be presented with travel options. Wizz Air will offer passengers from the delayed flights free transfer between airports ( Craiova and Bucharest) or the possibility to choose between rescheduling the flight for another date (no later than November 30th) or keeping the value of the ticket as a Wizz credit. There is also the option for the refund of the amount paid.

“Until the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority will not issue the authorization for normal flight operations in Craiova, including the use of runways and parking platforms, we shall not resume our activity. Although we are not responsible for the situation, we apologize to our customers for the delay in resuming our flights from Craiova ” said John Stephenson, Executive Vice President of Wizz Air.

From the city of Craiova Wizz Air offers flights to five destinations: Barcelona, Bologna, London -Luton, Milan- Bergamo and Rome Ciampino.
