The Universal Ie Day started three years ago at the initiative of La blouse roumaine – the first online community dedicated to the IE and the Romanian traditional costume. The campaign invites you to wear traditional ia or costumes, wherever you are and this year the events dedicated to this specific item from our traditional costume will take place between June 19 up until June 28.
And if you are addicted to social networks, better yet. La blouse roumaine is an online community born on Facebook in 2012, which triggered one of the most important cultural movements of the last 25 years dedicated to the Rumanian identity and culture.
La blouse roumaine created and initiated Ziua Internationala a Iei ( the Universal Ie Day) on June 24, 2013, coinciding with the feast of St. John and Sanziene (fairies). The event enjoyed tremendous success, being celebrated two years in a row, on 6 continents, in over 50 countries, on 100 cities in Romania and worldwide.
