This year, despite the restoration works of the historic center, in Râșnov city tourists were present throughout the season. According to the statements of Mayor Adrian Veștea, Rașnov continues to exert a contagious fascination on visitors. As a new attraction the rack lift (if you haven’t yet tried it) was inaugurated on July 12 – and has become a favorite of those who reach Râşnov.
“Since the inauguration of the elevator there were 18,000 passengers using this mean of transportation. On average, every day there were over 260 passengers (…) and on weekends 400-500 people. It is a good average, given that access is made more difficult because in the central area there are works being done in the Historical Center ” stated Mayor Adrian West.
The data provided by officials show that the city was visited during the period 1 January to 22 August 2015 by 291 828 tourists, and it is estimated that by the end of the year, the number of visitors will be exceeding 300,000 people.
Another point of interest in Râşnov is represented by the dinosaur park, opened in mid-June which so far has attracted 190,000 tourists. The good news continue this time with the opening of the 9D cinema, that we cannot wait to try it too. Until then we draw the line and see that to this date the city of Rasnov has attracted 500,000 tourists. Being the optimist that we are let’s hope that by the end of the year the tourist visiting the fortress will be approaching a million 🙂 .
