As winter is fast approaching our attention now turns to the mountain resorts, where, with the first snow, fun is on the way on the sky slopes. The latest news come from Sinaia resort, a city which annually attracts about 150,000 tourists during the ski season (December to May), 30% of them being foreigners.
This winter the city of Sinaia will gain a new gondola, the construction of which will be completed before the beginning of the ski season in December 2015, according to the statements of the mayor Vlad Oprea.
Fundings for the project come from a 7.6 million euro loan signed with Bancpost bank, for the construction of a new modern gondola on the section Cota 1400 – Cota 2000. The loan was contracted by Transport Urban Sinaia, the company that manages the ski area, the modern ski lifts, the public transport, the parks and sports centers of the city, for a period of 10 years. Transport Urban Sinaia has as sole shareholder Sinaia City Council.
